Waking up to green green grass we have a nice little breakfast before heading out, although the tent is still slightly wet during pack up, we are sure we will camp before dark and it will dry today. We have a slow day planned looking for our next camp, We cover 250kms over the day stopping on the side of the road for lunch and overall just enjoying the miles and miles of sun flowers. It’s a stunning view and we rather enjoy the bread basket we are driving through. Of course, there is some variance between google maps and road changes, we actually end up airing down due to the fact the road gets extremely rough and even went through the trees, later as we exit, you can see the road now loops around. We stop in Velyka Mykhailivka for a hardware shop so I can convert out 240 inverter to a euro style plug from the aussie plug. So that’s my nightly activity planned. We pop the drone up and the field carry on for miles, we even chase the car for a bit for fun.
Pulling through Vilshanka I have a spot from google maps that looks like an abandoned facility, looks like an old place for either milking cows or slaughtering from the communist days, what we have learned is that anything from those times is they left them to rot and were never touched or reused, all the emblems of the hammer and sickle have been pried from the cement and destroyed.
We lay out a steak for dinner and I get to work modifying the electrical system. We enjoy some wine as the lightning comes across the pastures in the distance. And when it does reach us, we get hammered, a solid effort for a summer storm, we end up having to even close the windows on the tent to keep the 45* hammering rain out. but it smells great and fresh as it leaves. luckily the wind is not overly bad. and we get a good sleep.
