Double day bonus blog

After surviving the night near the old facility we head further west with our goal of arriving at a camp site called База отдыха but first we swing through a small town by chance as we see a heap of statues on the side of the road, this takes us about 10kms off the main road and we end up in Doroshivka which has a full on excavation from roman times going with an old church, and even some caves with carvings.

We spend a few hours here getting taken around the area by the friendly ladies, we go through the fort and even into the underground storage area. Very cool to see and experience. The history in this area is amazing to study. With that section completed they take us to a cave area that is called Skel’nyy Khram which has strong powers if you put your hands between the carvings, so we give it a try. I’ll let you know if anything wild happens. There is a carving that’s looks a little illuminate to me. The area is calm in feeling which is nice.

We pull out cereal and eat a quick breakfast in the park then get back on the road where we cross a power dam and get hit with rain yet again. But luckily when we get to camp… wait why did we just jump to camp? I may have followed the wrong road to camp and slid into the ditch, the front tyre is sunk, but luckily I am able to drive further down the road and eventually pop out into the grass.. oops. We find the road into camp and are the dirtiest car by far. There is no room but they make a spot for us where we can get level enough.

We get fully set up and Asareh walks away for a minute and all the sudden a family from Italy comes up to me, very curious about the car, they are from Ukraine originally and spend summers here. We all get along great and we are promptly invited to dinner. Sounds good to me. With Asareh back at the car we setup a fancy meal of lunch meats and salmon, She absolutely nailed it!

Now the great black out starts, we go for dinner and the conversation is flowing, everyone is cheering, we are doing half sized shots, but a lot of them… ohhh and its also moonshine.. anyways, I struggle to remember the end dinner, then we go to the bar, where the owner brings out Jegger and vodka and that’s it. I wake up in the morning feeling like death. Asareh is feeling good enough for a small tour with the other family.

We finish the day with a small boat tour and have a small bbq with our new friends, but we make sure we take it easy on the drink tonight. A good solid sleep is had.
