A day at the local museum, there is so much cool stuff to see. A good way to stay busy. The curator is a 3rd generation German who gives me some history on the tractor out front and some of the info on mines around the area, very copper rich.  They also have a ton of interesting crystal formations.

For lunch we head the highly recommended Purple Fig. a small restaurant in town. We order “cheese” off the menu, I think it’s going to be… cheese, its actually just a bun with shredded cheese. Interesting. But the pork and chicken we order are spot on so that makes up for it.

No old timey horns allowed

Pointing the wagon north we  prepare for the biggest drive we have yet faced… 60kms. Brutal. We suggest a break at the 30km mark. The short drive is welcomed, as we arrive nice and early to camp. Pulling into town you see the old mine elevator so we go take a look, it was flooded in 96 during a strike and never reopened.  We cheat and eat at the restaurant for dinner.  Shots shots shots!!! I start with the springbok shot, then the Namib shot, and continue working my way down the list. Yet we are still able to walk a straight line home.
