Waking up to a beautiful sunrise or a poorly parked car, take your pick. Lol. We skip brekky and pull back onto the main road. We take a minute to stretch a bit while the tyres air back up. It takes about 2-3 minutes a tyre to go from 12 to 45psi. so very happy with the pump.

Pulling into town I fuel back up, working out to an average of 22 per 100. That sand eats up the fuel. I talk to the local at the fuel bowser and ask where we can eat, he points down the road. Right on, we head in and meet Godwina who runs the restaurant, which are run like a buffet, everything is already made and you pick what you want and price is by plate. Super good food.

Hammering down the last 270kms we arrive at Grootfontein, we head straight for the giant meteor, largest in the world. It has had samples taken off it all over, even torch cuts as its such a pure form of iron. We pose on it, even give it a lick, tastes like space.

How do I not get sick…

Just down the road we pull up for the night, the campsite is empty. Except for 4 dogs that spend quite a bit of time with us. We sit and watch the sunset, Asareh may have given the old dog a treat, which he returns the favour by bringing us a bird in return and sleeps at the base of our tent all night. Feels safe.

Oh I forgot, the area buildings have bats all over!! Super cool.

Sunset over the mountains

Easy dinner tonight
