Lets motor to Romania today, a quick pack up happens while we let Pina climb his heart out, as he sleeps heaps better, But he sure gets carried away quickly. We stop in town for a top notch burger before forgetting a phone on the public bench, I run back at top speed, still there. We get lucky. I should ass the drive today through the river valley is incredible, with great views and the sun was out in full force.

Just down the road we find Lepenski vir which is an old settlement from about 11000 years ago, which seems to be from after they slowly migrated from the Turkish area with there new agricultural ability. Now, all the faces here are looking up and screaming as it appears.. so I have some questions, what did they see? But we don’t need to get into this now…But maybe we can discuss how I have seen more snakes in 1 day in Serbia than most of my life in Australia.

Our main goal today, enter Romaina through the iron gates, a massive damn/ ship lock on the Danube river, all is going smooth sailing till we get to the last border house and he asks me to present an international driving permit, oops, that’s on me. He tells me to get one before leaving or I will have issues on exit, so we spend the next 30 minutes on the worlds slowest website buying a permit, a fully legit permit of course. With this in hand we grab a road tax permit and motor on.

We grab some good looking ribs in town for dinner and head out to the bush to camp, we find a lovely bit of forest that has a horror movie type feel. Perfect for tenting.

With the mangal at full temp the ribs go on for a feast, the sun sets and it does actually become a bit creepy in the area. Luckily for us, its almost a full moon. So we have enough light naturally once our eyes adjust its all good. Asareh I should add also has a habit of pulling tricks at times like this.
