I have no idea what airplane it is, but it was cool so we stopped quickly to see it, this is the start to an exciting day. We visit the space museum, from the very start its cool, copies of sputnik on display, Asareh gets to meet wall-E and I am allow to touch stuff. A dream come true. We go through having a look at the engines, different satellites and even the return capsulls from the soviet space era, and the wild bit is these ones had been to space and were covered in burns from reentry. The amount of manually operated bits was a bit mind boggling.

It’s mainly photos from this area, but it was really cool and interesting to see how the space race was handled from the soviet side, as most movies only feature the US. But of course, after all this learning we need to slow down a bit so we go for a nice tour around town, Asareh has her heart set on a sculpture we go hunting for, and of course find. The statue is dedicated to the suffering of the Ukraine people as they fought for their rights. From there we are into the local market, we by ourselves a nice little flower/wheat item for the church from an old lady, it still lives on our dash to this day. And of course a cold beer to wash all the walking down.

With that sorted we put the hammer down and head south the town of Pervomais’k and spend the night at a flooded quarry that is now a park. As we pull in and I go looking for some info, in that time a local family comes and talks to Asareh, we what do you know, they are very friendly, I’m noticing a pattern here. We get offered this home made drink, which is amazingly good and I will have to remind myself to message for the recipe. I’m sure 3 will put you to sleep, but that’s a price I am willing to pay. We spend an hour or so chatting and quickly make group plans to visit the nuclear bunker down the road the next day. They pack up to head into town and we meet another couple who are travelling the area as well from the UK and chit chat late into the night over beers.
