With Asareh loaded into an uber, I pack the rest of our stuff into the wagon and aim south, well sorta south, This blog will cover my 2 day drive as I head south towards Odessa. Starting with me leaving town I head towards Pereiaslav and then turn further south.  My goal is to cross a bridge called Ohlyadova Dilyanka, its wild, skinny 2 lane highway across the river, the Dnipro river to be exact. It must be almost 5kms long with almost a km in the middle being actual bridge.

I eat on the road and push on to a town called Nahirne, where I will camp at a small camp ground in the bush next to the lake, a great spot and boy was I glad I showed up early. I open the tent and from the wagon sitting in Kyiv with a slightly torn tent cover, it had rained every day we were in Chernobyl. Everything is soaked, not just damp, soaked. I have everything hanging on the awning, the bonnet, the ladder. Anything to aid in drying. Luckily the sun is out and there is a nice wind and I put the tent together completely dry.

The problems begin yet again in the morning when the fridge wont operate correctly, A quick call to my good mate Dan from Oz, and he says there is a back up thermometer for the 80L waecos built in, so with some tools I open the fridge, do the swap and moment of truth? The fridge is live and working perfect again. So the beer is safe.

Rolling out I head towards the black sea, swinging through the town of Kryvyi Rih, which is a massive industrial town surrounded by mines. Very cool stuff. Very soviet feel. Outside of town I find a nice little pond to park up next to for lunch, nothing beats a good sandwich on the road, side that with a beer in the 30c heat and you got a good day. Not even any bugs.

I pull off the road into a small area next to a town called Novokairy on the inlet from the main river. A stunning little spot less some of the garbage issues. Dinner is sausage and thinly sliced potatoes, all cooked together. 1 pot meals are the way to go. I spend the night relaxing to the singing of the frogs and watch the sunset from in the tent as its late and I’m tired.
