I was right, getting out of a warm bed to -5 is a struggle, no one wants to move, I now need to pack up a wet and frozen tent, my fingers are killing me but all with a smile on my face. Asareh is huddled as close as possible to the stove as it boils water, I assume to keep the slight breeze away, but more for the heat. We even leave the car idling while we pack to give it a fighting chance as well as it has never been used in cold weather and I am unsure how long it will take to warm up for operation.

- Our wake up
We have a quick trip straight to Erzurum today for covid tests!!! Yes the most loved test ever. This will most likely be our 50th test by now, all negative. And of course, we test negative yet again. Great way to spend some money. But we do need it for the Iran border crossing. But of course to celebrate, we first, get a nice little room at a hostel, this is great as the cat can explore a bit while we run around and we don’t have to sleep in the cold.

A quick stop for dinner is had, and we find the place has no menu, now, from our experience in Turkey, no menu is a good place, they specialize in 1 item and 1 item only, and it will blow your mind, luckily for me its Iskandar yet again! This time I don’t burn my fingers and we even have the pudding desert.
