From everywhere, the sky, registered land marks and even in nature. This is out of control. I will say this though, during the day time we are normally spoilt with clear weather. So we will take the good with the bad, Todays journey see’s us heading for Jajce to see the Pliva water fall.
The day is rather uneventful with a smooth drive and then finally finding a camp ground in the bush we stay at which has a bunch of little cabins for rent, we decline the cabin option, and setup the swag, only of course for it to start raining while the sun is out. But that’s okay, as some of the workers there are keen for a beer, so we sit for a few beers and chat. We have a small meal and call it a night quite early with Pina not being overly impressed with the early shut down.
The next day we are headed to Pixies house, our friend who we met back in the DR of Congo. As per the norm, there is a huge braai of pork followed by possibly one to many beers… hmm just like last time.
We kill some time in the workshop and polish the head lights on the L200 we also checked one other thing, but I cant remember but did need to jack the car up, possibly just an inspection as I had no other parts with me.
The next day Darko, also from DR of Congo welcomes us to his house, after a quick breakfast of meats and smoked cheeses we hit the road, but this time in a Toyota.. the horror!!! Darko is kind enough to take us around the area and explain how the war happened, where he was stationed, and told stories of the general time. The country has a deep history. We visit the monastery on the top of the mountain and stop for a quick snack.
Then its time to go offroad, Darko takes us to his moms old house, they did some mine clearing here a while ago, and while there is still some areas you cant go, he knows best and guides us around. I get a photo in front of a sign, seems everywhere we even work has this issue.
We wind the night down at Darko’s house after a meal out which gives us enough time to dry the swag out and prep to start camping again.
