Where do we even start today? We woke up very tired due to our late night but luckily, we did have a safe night. We actually sat for a quick breakfast today which is not normal, but sometimes needed. Pina didn’t mind the hold up as he was busy chasing water drops around on the awning, well maybe being chased by them…

We drive back through the ice cream town, and of course, get a top up because we are adults and can make excellent healthy choices! Our goal today is to go check out a valley near Shahrak-e Vali. The drive is easy, and on the way, we end up having to stop for lunch, and my final engineering course. Online courses are great! Parked up in the sun, I get the charcoal going and we have bought some nice flavoured chicken to cook, the cat is off and wandering with me keeping an ever-watchful eye for larger than normal birds. Sad to say, but I’m sure he would make a lovely snack.

With the cat safely taken care of, we leave the car and head to the river for a small boat cruise, it’s a nice little hour-long trip through the canyon and across the lake. The views are good, the weather is cool and our operator speaks slight English and have a happy attitude so overall it’s a nice trip. A good break from Iranian roads let’s say.

I think I have fund a nice spot on the map for camping, but the road doesn’t exist so we continue south till we find a dirt road cutting off the main road. This place is packed! People everywhere. But luckily all day trippers, after talking to many locals who pose with the car and take photos it clears out around 6pm and we get cooking.  Noodly goodness tonight coupled with some fake beer and a stunning sunset over the river. We finish the night with a small fire and tea, little do we know the people down the road are celebrating a wedding. How I slept through it I don’t know, but they partied late according to Asareh.
