Waking up at 7, we quickly shower and finish packing. Motoring on into town we swing into the café to ask about the dress and grab a coffee. The dress is there but the lady is not, so that’s a win and we go about our restock. Heading into town we get our LPG refilled and stock up on water. Packing is tight and I find wasted space to use. That a big win for us.
The square bottle fit best as they dont tip over
Heading out of town we hit the corrugations and motor on, less dust in car today so that is a mega win. We work our way through a vet check and head towards the park gate. But not before seeing a baby elephant in good view of the camera. Asareh wants to take it with, we already strapped for room. The gates to Moremi are just a couple kms away
Mom and baby And that’s all the walking for today
We sit and watch and get passed by a car, which we promptly pass back, arriving at the gate first pays off, we luck out with the last site available where we wanted to camp. We are informed due to booking we can’t setup till 4:30, that’s fine, we will go exploring anyway.
Road block Posed up amung the trees
We make our way to paradise pools and kick back. We see tons of elephants, even a grumpy one (he clearly has not forgotten that bad deal he got dealt) As we sit and chill a tourist bus rolls through, it seems to be a game for the animals, he drives through, nothing, he leaves we have animals all over the show.
Lunch break And the animals began to roll through
The bonus with this drive is it included water crossings!! I love water crossings, and rightly so, everyone does!!!
Back at the camp, we have people already in our camp so we share it, During our chat session I have a elephant walk 5m behind me, not much you can do but sit and wait. We end the night with a shared meal and are introduced to gem squash with cream corn and curried pickled beans. A great night was had.
