The birds wake us up today and its not to cold so we make our way out of bed, pack up with just a coffee and leave. We have skipped a few breakfast’s and need to stop doing that. But we did stretches so that sorta makes up for it. With the camera on time lapse we head out across the plains again

An attempt with the drone is made but due to a low battery I have to fly by the phone, this does not work very well. Giving up we continue on.

In the distance is a palm nut tree, and we pull up to have a look, we were unaware of what it was at the time, and find what looks to be a baby coconut on the ground, hammering the crap out of it I break it in 2 and it looks legit like a baby coconut, cool, doesn’t taste like one though.  Asareh may make a comment on this is how I will become sick. The trees line up as if they are planted on purpose to mark out an old land border.

Pulling up around 11 at Baines Baobab gates after passing about 200 zebras we head for camp, of course taking all the roads they suggest not taking. Haha, that won’t stop me. It seems to come down to avoiding having to rescue stuck tourists. As the roads are decent but very soft sand.

Pulling onto the salt flats again we begin to see the outlines of the trees in the distance, these thigns are massive. We even find some fuzzy fruits left behind that the locals mix for a yogurt type substance.

They can be up to 3000 years old

Camp, 2 massive baobab trees, open salt flats and Asareh walking around on the crust making it make noises, a perfect night. Well almost. we have a slight bee issue as they look for water and we have it. we put a bowl out for them to help relocate them.

Even better with dinner and wine followed by a movie and popcorn. I know that during camping everyone says spend the time outside every night, but sometimes we need a break and just chill with some tv.

Top tip: Make your popcorn in a pot with coconut oil, will blow your mind, and apparently is healthy or something like that..
